The Centre for Commercial Law in Asia regularly organises and hosts academic conferences on the development of ASEAN law and Asian law in general.
The fruitful exchange of views and opinions among legal researchers from around the region at these conferences, often also involving insights and participation from industry, government and regulatory officials, is critical to the development of ASEAN and Asian commercial law. Past keynote speakers and invitees have included His Excellency Igor Driesmans (EU Ambassador to ASEAN), Ms Mary Elizabeth Chelliah (Principal Trade Specialist, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore) and Mr Yoshifumi Fukunaga (Director, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan).
