Mission

The Singapore Capital Markets Initiative (SCMI) is a research initiative under the Centre for Commercial Law in Asia at the Singapore Management University Yong Pung How School of Law that seeks to advance cutting-edge research in capital markets while fostering collaboration among academics, regulators, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders. By conducting interdisciplinary, policy-oriented, and industry-relevant research, the SCMI serves as a global platform for policy dialogue and thought leadership at the intersection of law and finance, with a particular focus on capital markets, venture capital, private equity, private credit, and other forms of corporate financing that enable entrepreneurship, innovation, job creation, and economic growth.
