Sustainable Development and Commerce Initiative

The Sustainable Development and Commerce Initiative (SDCI) is a core research initiative at the Singapore Management University (SMU) focusing on the sustainability of commercial growth and development in the Asia-Pacific region. The creation of the Initiative as a focal point for sustainability research comes at a time when world economies, including the growth engines in Asia, are placing ever-increasing emphasis on the lasting consequences of their actions.

Sustainable Development and Commerce Initiative

The SDCI is at the forefront of the SMU Yong Pung How School of Law's thought leadership in the critical space of sustainability and commerce in the Asia-Pacific region. Acting urgently in collaboration with an extensive network of academic, industry and government stakeholders, many of whom are already pivoting to respond to sustainability concerns, we take the lead in generating research capacity and expertise in contemporary commercial law, with a view to promoting responsible business models and practices.

Join us on this journey towards a sustainable future.
